LESSONS

Surah At-Takathur is the 102nd surah in the Qur'an. This surah contains lessons that can be taken from the perspective of aqidah, morality and fiqh:

Aqidah (Belief):

  • This verse emphasizes the dangers of greed and competing to collect the world's treasures and riches. This teaches that the world is only temporary, while the afterlife is the main goal. The aqidah lesson that can be taken is that a Muslim must have a strong belief in the hereafter as a future and eternal reality.
  • This surah also shows that Allah is the true owner of everything, and He is the one who gives property and riches to humans. This strengthens the belief about Allah as the true Giver and Owner.

Akhlaq (morality):

  • This surah reminds us not to be too fixated on world competition in terms of possessions and wealth. Greed and covetousness can destroy a person's morals. On the contrary, a Muslim must maintain good morals, such as gratitude, humility and generosity towards others.
  • The moral lesson that can be taken is the importance of maintaining a balance between the needs of this world and the hereafter. World wealth must be used wisely and in obedience to Allah, and used to help fellow humans and do good deeds.

 Fiqh (Islamic Law):

  • Although it does not specifically discuss the laws of fiqh, this verse reminds us of the importance of living a simple life and not being excessive in worldly affairs. This verse also reminds us that in Islam, wealth is not prohibited, but must be managed wisely and within the framework of Islamic law.
  • This verse also reminds us of the importance of sharing wealth and wealth with others. In fiqh, the concepts of zakat (obligatory donations) and alms (voluntary donations) are very relevant, and this verse reinforces the importance of carrying them out as part of Muslim obligations and morals.

Overall, Surah At-Takathur reminds us of the importance of maintaining a balance between the interests of this world and the hereafter, as well as the importance of having good morals in dealing with wealth and wealth. This also reminds us to prioritize the afterlife in our beliefs and actions as Muslims.
